Gun battle between Osun Police and Kidnappers,3 Injured

Members of the special force of the osun state police command earlier today engaged in a gun battle with a gang of suspected kidnappers leaving three members of the gang seriously injured and one arrested.

According to Folashade Odoro, the command PRO, the gun duel occurred at Erin- Osun, In Irepodun local government area of the state. The three wounded suspects alongside one other were arrested, while the fifth suspect escaped with gunshot wound. Odoro said the suspects kidnapped some persons in Osogbo and Ogbomoso and collected Ransom of three million, hundred and fifty thousand naira from parents of their victims.

The Police Public Relations Officers said injured suspects are being treated at the intensive care unit of an undisclosed Hospital in the state capital. One of the suspects, Akin Ibitoye (40) Akin Ibitoye, one of the suspects, said he joined the gang after his brother was amputated during the march Ife Communal clash. Among the five man gang, are 3 siblings.
