Photo: Nigerian national arrested with fake visa on his passport in India

Udaipur police from Surajpol station, India on Saturday, April 29, arrested a Nigerian national carrying fake visa on his passport. The accused Lopez Anoji was nabbed by the police on Saturday afternoon while he was roaming in the city, later he was produced in a local court and was remanded under judicial custody remand.

During the examination of the baggage of the arrested Nigerian, police has recovered a passport with fake visa which was later seized and he was booked under several sections of IPC.

Herambh Joshi Station House Officer of Surajpol police station told DU that during his initial interrogation the accused revealed that he arrived India in January 2015 on the visa of Medical Attendant, his visa expired in March 2015, despite of that he continued staying at Tamil Nadu from last 2 years, during his stay he had travelled to different places in the country in buses, trains using carrying that fake visa but never got caught.

He arrived at Udaipur on Saturday morning from Delhi and was roaming at Udiapol area when he was caught the police, Joshi added further. After questioning him about the nexus of fake visa and after collecting relevant information about it police has produced him in a local court that remanded him under judicial custody.
